Joliet Technologies Stays Competitive, Bested By Longshots Gold

Joliet Technologies and Longshots Gold passed the lead back-and-forth on Wednesday, but eventually Longshots Gold prevailed 13-12. The game was tied at 11 with Longshots Gold batting in the top of the seventh when Berto tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Josh Kelly collected four hits in defeat. Kelly singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Joliet Technologies captured the lead in the first inning. Ken Gierich drove in two when he singled.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Joliet Technologies tied things up at 11 when Justin Gierich singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Longshots Gold scored five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Longshots Gold was led by Brett, John, Brandon, Mike, and Pharo, all driving in runs in the inning.

John Danaher was in the circle for Joliet Technologies. He went seven innings, allowing 13 runs on 23 hits and striking out two.

Joliet Technologies tallied 20 hits in the game. Kelly, Andrew Lillard, Jeff Ingram, Gierich, Sean Stukel, and Gierich all had multiple hits for Joliet Technologies. Ingram, Lillard, and Kelly each collected four hits to lead Joliet Technologies. Joliet Technologies was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ingram had the most chances in the field with seven.

Longshots Gold collected 23 hits. Berto, Biz, Dave, John, E, Brandon, Pharo, Tucker, and Kyle each collected multiple hits for Longshots Gold. Berto went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Longshots Gold in hits.
