Kelly Collects Four Hits as Joliet Technologies Falls to Longshots Gold
Josh Kelly had four hits, but Joliet Technologies fell to Longshots Gold 16-11 on Wednesday. Kelly tripled in the first, singled in the third, tripled in the fifth, and tripled in the sixth.
Despite the loss, Joliet Technologies did collect 21 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Longshots Gold had 21 hits on the way to victory.
Longshots Gold fired up the offense in the first inning. Longshots Gold scored one run when Brett singled.
Longshots Gold evened things up at two in the top of the second inning when John Gierich induced Ruben to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Longshots Gold pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Teking tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Netti singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, John doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Mark singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Joliet Technologies scored three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Joliet Technologies was led by Kelly, Mark Bew, and Justin Gierich, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Gierich was on the rubber for Joliet Technologies. He went seven innings, allowing 16 runs on 21 hits.
Joliet Technologies totaled 21 hits. Kelly, Ken Gierich, Gierich, Jeff Ingram, Jim Vidican, and Jake Young all managed multiple hits for Joliet Technologies.
